CLASSROOM VISITS :
Portrait Pebbles can easily be brought to classrooms from Grades 5 and up. Usually, schools create their own memory garden on their property or in a corner of their classroom.
Portrait Pebbles does not delve into the statistics or horrors of the Holocaust; it focusses on the faces of the victims. For this reason, the activity can be adapted to any age of student, from Grade 5 to college / university.
For younger students, Portrait Pebbles facilitates discussions about tolerance (see 'Quotes') and contains an excellent anti-bullying message.
For older students, Portrait Pebbles is appropriate for students of World War II, the Holocaust or Genocide Studies.
Portrait Pebbles is not appropriate for students below the age of 10.
